The image depicts a pottery shard that I discovered whilst beachcombing. I love how it relates to Contemporary Archaeology and how this piece of pottery could be part of the recent past.

I like how this photograph captures the essence of Orkney. It conveys the island’s rich history combined with its renowned remote landscape.
